The Seismic Group’s mission is to make industrialised construction scalable, repeatable and easier to adopt.
The Seismic Platform is an open product architecture based on common components, standardised interfaces, assured performance and repeatable assembly logic.
It allows clients, manufacturers, design teams and delivery partners to work from shared rules while avoiding dependency on a single proprietary system.By supporting 2D, 3D, hybrid and kit-of-parts delivery routes, Seismic combines the benefits of standardisation and factory-controlled production with the flexibility needed for different building types, sites and procurement models.
Developed through more than 10 years of research, testing and public-sector innovation programmes, Seismic provides a practical route towards higher productivity, better quality, lower carbon and more resilient industrialised construction.
In line with government guidance and policy, the Seismic platform has been developed to drive a major shift towards a more productive, better quality and lower carbon construction industry.
The Seismic Platform was developed to address a persistent problem in construction: the industry has repeatedly invested in offsite manufacturing, MMC and innovation, but too often each project, supplier and system still operates in isolation.
Developed over more than 10 years through £30m of research, testing and public-sector innovation, Seismic provides a different route. It is an open industrialised construction platform based on common components, standardised interfaces, assured performance and repeatable assembly logic.
The Seismic Group led the team that developed the platform, bringing together digital design, manufacturing, procurement and assembly principles into a practical product architecture. The platform supports multiple delivery routes, including 2D, 3D, hybrid and kit-of-parts approaches, allowing projects to benefit from standardisation while retaining flexibility.
Seismic aligns with the principles set out in the Construction Playbook and Product Platform Rulebook. It was developed to support a more productive, lower-carbon and better-quality construction industry by enabling clients, manufacturers, design teams and delivery partners to work from shared rules rather than separate proprietary systems. Our role is to help organisations understand how the platform can fit into their project, programme, manufacturing strategy or wider industrialised construction offering.

Leadership and specialist network
Richard Crosby, Founder and Director
Richard Crosby leads Seismic Group and has spent more than a decade developing and promoting platform-based, production-led construction.
His work has focused on how standardised components, defined interfaces, assured performance and repeatable assembly logic can help the construction industry move beyond fragmented project-by-project delivery.
Richard led the development and commercialisation of the Seismic Platform, an open industrialised construction platform designed to support multi-manufacturer delivery, reduce dependency on closed proprietary systems and improve productivity, quality, carbon performance and delivery certainty.
He has advised public-sector bodies on Modern Methods of Construction, platform approaches and industrialised delivery, and continues to work with clients, manufacturers, consultants and delivery partners seeking practical routes to scalable platform-based construction.
Specialist delivery network
Seismic Group is supported by a flexible network of experienced specialists across industrialised construction, commercial strategy, manufacturing, design, project delivery, assurance and procurement.
This model allows Seismic to bring together the right expertise for each opportunity, while remaining focused on its core role: developing, licensing and supporting adoption of the Seismic Platform.
Our approach reflects the platform itself: open, collaborative and designed to enable multiple organisations to work from common rules, standardised interfaces and shared delivery objectives.
The Seismic Platform is an open product architecture for industrialised construction.
It enables buildings to be designed, procured, manufactured and assembled using common components, standardised interfaces and repeatable assembly logic.
The platform supports 2D, 3D, hybrid and kit-of-parts delivery routes, allowing clients and delivery partners to combine factory efficiency with project-specific flexibility.
Designed for multi-manufacturer participation, Seismic gives clients the benefits of standardisation without locking them into one supplier, factory or proprietary system.

Seismic exists to make industrialised construction easier to adopt, procure and scale. (Seimsic scale!)
The platform helps clients, manufacturers, design teams and contractors move from fragmented project-by-project delivery towards open platform-based construction using common rules, standardised interfaces and repeatable assurance.
This supports lower risk, improved productivity, lower carbon and wider multi-manufacturer participation.
